Maddie's first AQHA show was an all Novice show in
Kingman, KS August 28th, 2005.
She was 3rd out of 17 in NY Showmanship earning her
first AQHA point and 1st of 12 in NY Hunter Under Saddle earning another 2
points.
Maddie then ventured to a small show in Lincoln, NE
where she earned another point by winning showmanship and placing 2nd in Hunter
Under Saddle. There weren't many points to be had as her largest class was 6
entries.
Maddie's first big quarter show was the fall show in
Wichita, KS. The pair picked up another 1 1/2 points with a 2nd in Hunter Under
Saddle and a 1st out of 8 in Hunt Seat Equitation.
The American Royal was the team's last show for 2005.
They earned another 1 1/2 points in showmanship, and had a good showing for a
large show. Maddie and Smokey placed under all 4 judges in Showmanship with 27
entries both days. They also placed under 3 of the 4 judges in Hunter Under
Saddle. Smokey had issues with Horsemanship at this show...guess he thought he
should be done for the day!
All in all it was a great year for a team just starting
out.
2007 Show Updates....
Congratulations to Maddie and Smokey on a fine show in July 2007 at Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. The team earned reserve circuit awards in Novice Youth Horsemanship and
Equitation, as well as earning the title of Reserve Novice Youth Hi Point
All-Around. This is their first set of awards. Good Job!!!
